Northwest Territories

The Northwest Territories Nominee Program (NTNP) offers a pathway to immigration for individuals who want to live and work in the Northwest Territories (NWT). To qualify, you must either:

– Be prepared to start, purchase, or invest in a business in the NWT; or

– Have a valid job offer from an employer in the NWT.

The NTNP has three distinct streams:

1. Business Stream – Designed for foreign nationals who wish to establish a new business, purchase an existing one, or invest in and operate a business in the NWT.

2. Employer-Driven Stream – Allows NWT employers to nominate foreign workers when no Canadian citizens or permanent residents are available for the position.

3. Francophone Stream – Open to French-speaking foreign nationals who are also proficient in English and have a valid job offer from an NWT employer. This stream aims to enhance the bilingual workforce across all National Occupational Classification (NOC) TEER categories (0, 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5).
